About
Deer Lodge’s Program of Integrated Managed-care of the Elderly (PRIME) Centre was the first facility of its type in Western Canada. It was developed as a regional Long Term Care Strategy as part of the Provincial Aging in Place policy. PRIME is an innovative program of case-managed, integrated community care aimed at supporting individuals in the community by providing medical care, pharmacy and rehabilitation services, among others, in one location on an outpatient basis. It provides services to approximately 90 people living in the community.

The purpose of PRIME is to help individuals maintain their present health and functional status, to delay or prevent personal care home placement or unnecessary hospitalization, and to encourage social interaction. The Program will also provide a needed respite for caregivers.

The space is intended to enhance ease-of-access and way-finding for program participants, functionality and efficiency for program staff, optimal flow between different program components, and an interior space that responds to user requirements.
